Daniel Canel
CEO

Daniel J. Canel is a recognized Latin American financial services expert with an extensive and successful career leading organizations to their realization. He is a Wall Street veteran with ample experience in Investment Banking and has been an advisor to governmental organizations, banking, private corporations and financial institutions on the emerging markets of Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Canel was Chairman of JumpTV International for Latin America and the Caribbean, which was acquired by Neulion and is positioned as the worlds leading broadcaster of ethnic online television.

Previously, Mr. Canel was Founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of Patagon, the first International online bank. Patagon was a pioneer success in internet banking with more than 750 employees in 9 cities in Latin America, United States, and Europe. In 2000, Patagon was acquired by Banco Santander Central Hispano. The transaction was valued at $745 million dollars and is considered one of the most important deals of the Start-Ups (Internet) era.

Between 1978 and 1998, Mr. Canel held leading emerging markets positions in several of the most important financial institutions in the United States such as UBS Warburg’s, Chase Manhattan Bank and JP Morgan Bank.

Mr. Canel holds a Graduate degree in Accounting and Economics.

Gustavo Dominguez
Chief Investment Officer

Gustavo Dominguez is a financial services veteran with over 25 years of experience in trading and portfolio management of fixed income and derivatives instruments in emerging and developed markets.

Prior to joining AdCap, Mr. Dominguez was a portfolio manager and member of the investment committee of Gottex Fund Management, where he managed a  Global Macro Trading fund of funds,  an Asia multi-strategy portfolio, as well as co-managed a US$ 3.5 billion portfolio of Asset Based Lending and Real Assets direct transactions.

Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Emerging Markets Division of J.P. Morgan in charge of the Americas business, the Emerging Markets global proprietary books, and chaired the EM Global Risk Committee.

Until December 2000, Mr. Dominguez was Global Head of Risk taking for the International Fixed Income Division of Chase Manhattan Bank, covering non US fixed income markets and structured businesses Globally, and the proprietary and market making client books.

Prior to joining Chase in 1994, he was Co-Head of Mortgage Backed Securities Trading at J.P. Morgan and also ran US dollar interest rate options trading within the US dollar derivatives business.

Mr. Dominguez holds a Bachelor degree and Doctorate in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires.

Javier Timerman
Director

Javier Timmerman is a recognized financial services veteran with extensive success in the emerging markets, FX and fixed income arenas. Prior to joining AdCap, he was Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. and Member of the Bear Stearns President’s Advisory Committee.

Mr. Timerman’s career at Bear Stearns spanned 15 years, where he headed Spot and Forward Foreign Exchange and co-headed its Latin America Fixed Income Trading, managing a team of 27 FX and Latam fixed income traders.

Mr. Timerman founded and seeded the Bear Stearns Emerging Market Fund, the firm’s largest and most profitable fund with assets totaling US$2 billion. He also implemented an algorithmic trading platform to capture correlation patterns between inputs from every asset class that may influence the currency markets.

In 1992, Mr. Timerman demonstrated his trading acumen as GBP Spot Trader for Lehman Brothers during the extraordinarily volatile currency crisis which lead the British authorities to abandon the Exchange Rate Mechanism of the European Monetary System.

Mr. Timerman holds a Masters Degree in International Affairs with a specialization in International Finance and a Masters Degree in Political Science from Columbia University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Tel Aviv University.

Juan Martin Molinari
Investment Banking Director

Juan Martin Molinari is a capital markets veteran with extensive experience in the Latin American region. He heads the Investment Banking arm of AdCap.

Prior to joining AdCap, he headed Capital Markets for Central and Latin America at MBA Lazard Investment Bank.

Mr. Molinari has raised funds through private and public deals across the capital structure. He has successfully originated and executed M&A transactions, valuations and restructurings.

His experience in capital markets includes Debt Offerings and Buybacks, both local and international, Securitizations and Equity Offerings. He has also been involved in many assignments related to Debt Restructuring, Advisory and M&A. His clients have included world-renowned local and regional organizations.

Previously, he was Managing Director in MBA Lazard’s Sales and Trading division where he marketed FX (spot, NDFs and options), bonds, loans, structured securities, CLNs and CDSs to institutional investors. Prior to that he was Vice President of Sales and Distribution at Banco Santander Rio.

Mr. Molinari holds an MBA from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and a B.A. in International Economics from the Universidad del Salvador.

Agustin Honig
Sales & Trading Director

Mr. Honig is responsible for Latin American Sales & Trading. Since joining AdCap, he has built a highly competitive and top performing team of Emerging Markets specialized traders focused on Fixed Income Valuation Methods for Emerging Markets.

The team has global reach relationships with banks, funds, insurance companies, agencies and corporations. In less than a year, he lead his team to a leading position in local and South Cone markets.

Prior to joining AdCap, Mr. Honig was a Senior Local Representative at Bear Stearns & Co., Inc, where he was responsible for local client coverage across fixed income trading instruments and local securities origination for global distribution.

Previously, was as Senior Sales Trader of Fixed Income at both MBA Banco de Inversiones and BBVA Banco Francés for twelve years covering local and foreign accounts. Through his career the client coverage focused on fixed income sales and marketing of corporate derivatives, capital markets products and investment banking services.

Mr. Honig holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Universidad Católica Argentina.
